Story

In the United States, a tragic incident unfolded on Saturday evening when three men were fishing near the American River in Placer County. Around 7 p.m., the situation turned perilous as two of the men entered the water. Initially, only one person was swept away by the river's strong current. However, the second man also succumbed to the water's force while attempting to rescue his friend. After the Placer County Sheriff's Office received the distress call around 9 p.m., search and rescue teams were deployed. Unfortunately, efforts had to be halted due to unsafe conditions in the area. The search resumed on Sunday with 18 personnel and two K9 teams combing the vicinity, along with the assistance of dive teams and drones as soon as visibility improved. On Monday afternoon, authorities announced the discovery of two bodies downstream of the last known location of the men. Both bodies were recovered from the river, and efforts are now focused on identifying the victims. This tragic incident serves as a harsh reminder of the dangers that can arise in strong currents, especially during recreational activities like fishing.
