Eight British soldiers injured in NATO exercise highway crash

In Estonia, on November 18, 2024, a significant traffic incident involving soldiers occurred while they were returning to their base in Tapa during a snowstorm. The accident, a chain-reaction pileup, was triggered by a prior two-car collision on the Tallinn-Narva highway. A total of 17 individuals were injured, comprising 12 soldiers from a NATO exercise, and they were subsequently hospitalized. Eight of the injured British troops were later flown back to the United Kingdom for additional medical care, highlighting the severity of their conditions. Among these, five have since been discharged, while three remain hospitalized at Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham, ensuring they receive necessary treatment following the accident.
