Four injured, including children, in Thanksgiving rollover crash

On Thanksgiving Day, a two-vehicle crash occurred near unincorporated Woodstock, Illinois, resulting in injuries to four individuals, including two children. The crash was reported to the Woodstock Fire/Rescue District at around 7:23 p.m. Fire crews arrived at the scene to find two heavily damaged vehicles, with one flipped over and the other upright. The overturned vehicle had four occupants inside, two of which were children. Fortunately, all the individuals managed to exit their vehicles before emergency services arrived. They were later transported to Northwestern Medicine McHenry Hospital for treatment of minor injuries. It is noted that both children were secured in their seats at the time of the accident, which likely contributed to their survival with only minor injuries. The driver of the second vehicle involved in the crash refused treatment at the scene, raising questions about the circumstances that led to the collision. Authorities were required to close Charles Road for nearly an hour to facilitate debris removal, which spanned approximately 100 feet. The McHenry County Sheriff's Office has taken on the investigation into the crash to determine the specific causes and any contributing factors.
