Wendy's is set to open a restaurant in Cork this October

Wendy's, the renowned American fast-food chain, is making its return to Ireland with a new restaurant opening scheduled for October in Cork. This new outlet will be located within the Mahon Point Shopping Centre and aims to create around 50 job opportunities, for which recruitment is already in progress. Although Wendy's previously had a brief establishment in Dublin during the 1980s, they are now deliberately targeting a long-term presence in the Irish market. This strategy comes as part of a partnership established between Wendy's and Corrib Oil, announced last year, which seeks to strengthen the brand’s footprint in Ireland. The new Cork restaurant will feature a range of menu items prepared using locally sourced Irish beef and chicken, including breakfast wraps, nuggets, kids' meals, alongside their celebrated burgers and the Frosty dessert. The launch of the Cork location is hailed as a significant milestone for both Wendy's and Corrib Brands, with Michael Dalton, Managing Director of Corrib Brands, expressing excitement about the opportunity to present quality food and hospitality to the local community. The partnership signifies a commitment to offer fresh foods that are familiar yet tailored for Irish customers. Following the opening in Cork, there are ambitious plans in place for a greater rollout of Wendy's across the country, with an expected 10 new locations to debut between 2025 and 2027.
