Aug. 19 (UPI) — Commuters in Logan County, West Virginia, faced an unexpected delay on Friday morning due to a kangaroo spotted hopping along Mud Fork Road. Noah Manns, who was on his way to work, captured the unusual scene as several vehicles came to a halt to observe the marsupial. "I was trying to look around and see what the holdup was, and when I was able to get into view, I saw a kangaroo hopping up the road," Manns recounted to WVVA-TV. Manns shared his photos of the kangaroo on Facebook, expressing his astonishment at the sight. "Of all things, what is a full grown kangaroo doing running around the streets?" he questioned. The incident quickly drew attention, highlighting the unusual nature of the situation in the rural area. After witnessing the kangaroo, Manns reached out to a friend who was able to contact the pet's owners. The kangaroo, which had been raised by its owners since it was a baby, was safely returned home without incident.
