Palm Springs Surf Club Transforms into EDM Hub During Coachella Season
- Palm Springs introduces a new Surf Club with a resort-like atmosphere.
- The venue offers options from reserved tables to casual hangouts.
- Live music plays all day at the grassy area nearby.
In a significant redevelopment of a former water park, the Palm Springs Surf Club has emerged as a vibrant venue for electronic dance music (EDM) events. Spanning twenty acres, the property offers breathtaking views of water and surrounding hills, making it an attractive destination for music lovers. Over two weeks, Goldenvoice, in collaboration with Tyler McLean, hosted a series of EDM events, rebranding the venue as the Goldenvoice Surf Club. The lineup, curated by Becky Rosen-Checa, featured a range of performers, many of whom are familiar faces from the Coachella festival. The Surf Club provided a resort-like atmosphere, offering various options for attendees, from reserved tables to casual lounging in shaded areas. A stage was set up near the wave pool, allowing guests to enjoy performances against a stunning mountain backdrop. This unique setting attracted many festival-goers who opted to spend their time at the Surf Club instead of attending Coachella, enjoying a day filled with music and relaxation. Unlike many exclusive Coachella events that require guest lists for entry, the Surf Club offered affordable admission, with one-day tickets starting at $40 and weekend passes at $75. The venue also collaborates with McLean on events like Splash House and Desert Air, ensuring a year-round presence in the desert community. The success of the two-week programming highlighted the effective partnership between McLean and Rosen-Checa, catering to the demand from the Coachella crowd looking for pre-festival festivities.
