JNU releases second merit list for UG admission; verification from Sept 2-5

Jawaharlal Nehru University has announced the release of its second merit list for undergraduate admissions, which can be accessed on the official website jnuee.jnu.ac.in. Candidates who registered for admission are encouraged to check and download the merit list. The physical verification process for the selected candidates is scheduled to take place from September 2 to September 5, 2024, as part of the university's counselling timetable. To successfully download the merit list, candidates must enter their application number and password. After logging in, they can view and save the PDF of the second merit list for future reference. This step is crucial for candidates who wish to secure their seats in the university's various undergraduate programs. The counselling process includes several stages such as online registration, choice-filling, document verification, seat allocation, and reporting to the designated institute. Candidates who are shortlisted in the second merit list must complete their pre-enrollment registration and pay the required application fee by September 1 to confirm their seats. The university follows a reservation policy that allocates specific percentages of seats for various categories, including 27% for Other Backward Classes (OBC), 15% for Scheduled Castes (SC), 7.5% for Scheduled Tribes (ST), and 5% for Persons with Disabilities (PwD). This policy aims to ensure equitable access to education for all eligible candidates, with specific criteria for PwD reservations.
