In India, the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) announced the postponement of the Engineering Services Examination (ESE) 2025. Originally scheduled for February 2, 2025, and June 22, 2025, the new dates for the preliminary and mains examinations are now set for June 8, 2025, and August 10, 2025, respectively. This decision was made to provide candidates with ample preparation time ahead of the exams. The notification for the ESE was issued on September 18, 2024, with the application window having recently reopened on October 18, 2024, allowing aspiring candidates to apply until November 22, 2024. A correction window will also be available for applicants from November 23 to November 29, 2024. Moreover, the UPSC has included changes in its recruitment strategy, stating that the Indian Railway Management Service (IRMS) will be appointed through both the Civil Services Examinations and the Engineering Services Examination.
