Western Pennsylvania ski resorts prepare for winter season

As winter approaches, ski resorts in western Pennsylvania, including Seven Springs, Hidden Valley, and Laurel Mountain, are preparing for the upcoming season. Brett Cook, the vice president and general manager of Vail Resorts, emphasizes the excitement among staff as they finalize preparations that have been ongoing throughout the summer. Key projects include infrastructure upgrades, such as new snowmaking piping and snow guns, as well as improvements to communication systems and aesthetics at the resorts. This year, guests at Seven Springs will benefit from an increase in parking spaces, with an additional 300 spots added to the Meadow Woods area, enhancing the arrival experience for visitors. The resorts are also expanding their programming, particularly for children, with more full- and half-day options available. Local schools will have increased opportunities to participate in discounted skiing days through the Slope Days program. In addition to these enhancements, Seven Springs and Hidden Valley are introducing new seasonal lessons specifically for women, catering to a growing interest in inclusive skiing experiences. As the season nears, Cook advises potential visitors to purchase their passes early, as prices will rise after October 9. This proactive approach allows skiers and snowboarders to save money on lift tickets and Epic Passes, which are currently available for purchase. Overall, the preparations at these resorts reflect a commitment to improving guest experiences and expanding access to winter sports, ensuring that both new and returning visitors can enjoy the slopes this winter.
