On Thursday, the US Consulate General in Mumbai hosted 'TechCamp Pune', an event dedicated to addressing the critical issue of waste management. This initiative was organized in collaboration with the Symbiosis International University Centre for Waste Resource Management, ExploreiT, and the Climate Reality Project. The event gathered over 45 professionals from various sectors in Maharashtra, including policymakers, industry leaders, and civil society representatives, to collaborate on innovative solutions for waste management challenges. Participants engaged in discussions and workshops over four days, focusing on the integration of digital tools to enhance waste collection, improve recycling processes, and raise community awareness about sustainable practices. Consul General Mike Hankey emphasized the significance of local innovation in tackling global environmental issues, highlighting the role of the United States in empowering local leaders to develop scalable and sustainable solutions for waste management.
