Story

In a significant boost to their Class of 2025 recruiting efforts, the University of Oklahoma has secured a commitment from five-star offensive tackle Michael Fasusi. The announcement was made during a ceremony at his high school in Lewisville, Texas, where the 6-foot-5, 295-pound athlete revealed his decision to join coach Brent Venables and the Sooners. Fasusi, originally from Nigeria, chose Oklahoma over other prominent programs including Texas, Texas A&M, Oregon, and Missouri. Ranked as the No. 12 overall prospect and the No. 3 offensive tackle in the 247Sports Composite, Fasusi's commitment marks a pivotal moment for the Sooners. If he signs with Oklahoma, he will become the highest-rated offensive line recruit in the program's modern history, which dates back to 2002. This recruitment comes at a crucial time as Oklahoma prepares to transition into the Southeastern Conference (SEC), where they will face some of the nation’s top defensive linemen. Fasusi's commitment has propelled Oklahoma's recruiting class to No. 8 nationally, a jump of three spots. He is the 23rd commitment for the Sooners and the ninth from Texas, contributing to a class that now includes 14 blue-chip recruits and seven top-150 prospects. Alongside Fasusi, the offensive line group has also welcomed four-star Ryan Fodje and three-star recruits Darius Afalava and Owen Hollenbeck, further strengthening the Sooners' future prospects.
