MCU VC meets Kerala Governor to launch joint certification program

On a recent visit to Kerala, Prof K G Suresh, the Vice Chancellor of Makhanlal Chaturvedi National University of Journalism and Communication, met with Kerala's Governor, Arif Mohammed Khan, at Raj Bhavan in Thiruvananthapuram. This meeting was part of a conference organized by the Malayalam weekly Kesari, where Dr. Suresh highlighted the achievements of Asia's first and India's largest media university. He also presented the Governor with a Prasad from Ujjain's Mahakal temple, symbolizing goodwill and cultural exchange. During the meeting, Prof Suresh informed Governor Khan about the university's plans to initiate a joint certification program in digital media in collaboration with Mahatma Gandhi College of Communication, located in Kozhikode. This initiative aims to enhance educational opportunities in the field of digital media within Kerala, reflecting the university's commitment to expanding its reach and influence in journalism and communication. Governor Khan expressed his approval of this initiative and accepted an invitation to visit Bhopal, where he would address the faculty and students of the university. This invitation signifies a strengthening of ties between the university and the state government, as well as a recognition of the importance of media education in today's digital age. The establishment of the joint certification program is expected to benefit students in Kerala by providing them with valuable skills and knowledge in digital media, thereby contributing to the overall development of the media landscape in the region.
