Story

In Malaysia, Lithuanian street artist Ernest Zacharevic learned that his mural, Children On A Bicycle, was being used as part of an AirAsia aircraft design without his consent. This mural, painted in 2012, is one of Zacharevic's most famous works and has contributed to drawing tourists to Penang. He was alerted to this unauthorized use when he saw a friend's Instagram story and later confirmed it at the airport. Despite previous attempts to contact AirAsia for permission, Zacharevic found it difficult to reach the appropriate contacts within the airline’s corporate structure. He expressed a desire for dialogue with AirAsia, highlighting dissatisfaction with how his work has been handled without his approval.
