Story

An Iraqi Airways flight, IA-473, traveling from Baghdad to Guangzhou, was forced to make an emergency landing at Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose International Airport in Kolkata on Wednesday night. Approximately 30 minutes before landing, a 16-year-old passenger, Deran Samir Ahmed, suddenly fell ill. Airport health officials responded promptly, but upon examination, they found no pulse or heartbeat. The situation necessitated immediate medical intervention as the flight diverted from its original course. Upon landing at 10:18 PM, a medical team attended to the teenager, but she was declared 'brought dead' after being transported to a private hospital. The hospital confirmed that the girl was a resident of the Sar Chinar area in Baghdad. Following the incident, the remaining passengers and crew continued their journey to Guangzhou at 1:49 AM. In response to the tragic event, the Baguiati police initiated a case of unnatural death based on the medical findings. The CEO of Charnock Hospital stated that police officers later retrieved the body for further investigation, including a post-mortem examination. The police are coordinating with the Iraqi Embassy in Delhi to facilitate the return of the girl's body to her family. Communication with her relatives has been challenging due to language barriers, as they were unable to speak English. The authorities are working to ensure that the family can take their loved one back home after all necessary formalities are completed.
