In a series of drug-related operations, the St. Clair County Drug Task Force arrested five individuals and seized significant quantities of methamphetamine and analogue pills last week. The first operation took place on August 6, when authorities executed a search warrant at a residence on 7th Street in Port Huron, targeting a methamphetamine sale investigation. During the search, officers apprehended Matthew Fields, 36, and Kaylee Rataj, 21, who were present at the location. The search yielded a dealer's amount of crystal meth, analogue pills, and drug paraphernalia. Fields faces multiple charges, including delivery of methamphetamine and maintaining a house of ill-fame, along with a parole violation, resulting in a $50,000 bond. Rataj has been charged with possession of methamphetamine and a contempt of court warrant, with a bond set at $10,000. In a separate investigation on August 8, the task force conducted a traffic stop on eastbound I-94 after receiving information about a vehicle traveling from Detroit with narcotics. The stop led to the arrest of three individuals, including Victoria Urie, 41, who was charged with delivery of crystal methamphetamine and destruction of evidence, with a bond of $25,000. Jessica Debruyn, 37, and Jason Swinson, 70, were also charged with delivery of crystal meth and received $5,000 bonds each. These operations highlight ongoing efforts by law enforcement to combat drug trafficking in the region.
