Man plots attack on Texas church with explosives and firearms

In White Settlement, Texas, a man was found inside a suspicious van on November 26, 2024. Local police were alerted by a resident at around 5:30 a.m. about a white van parked on Jason Lane. Upon arrival, officers discovered the man appearing to be in a mental health crisis, with a handgun in his lap and what appeared to be an explosive device positioned on the passenger seat. During a conversation with the suspect, the officers were able to safely extricate him from the vehicle and away from the weapons. He was subsequently detained, while the Fort Worth Fire Department Bomb Squad was summoned for assistance with the hazardous materials discovered in the van. The bomb squad later confirmed that three out of the eight devices found were classified as 'destructive devices.' In addition to the explosives, the man had a rifle and an AR-style pistol in his possession.
