A Greater Manchester Police officer has been suspended after a series of violent confrontations at Manchester Airport Terminal 2, where he was filmed kicking a man in the head and subsequently using pepper spray on another individual. The incidents occurred on Tuesday while the police were responding to reports of an assault at the airport. Footage shows the officer kicking and stamping on a suspect who was lying face down, raising serious concerns about the use of force by law enforcement. In a separate altercation captured on video, the same officer pepper-sprayed a man who was recording the initial incident. Witnesses reported that the officer attempted to restrain the man with a headlock before another officer intervened. The situation escalated as the officer wrestled the man to the ground, prompting bystanders to express their disbelief at the officer's actions. Lawyer Akhmed Yakoob, representing the victims, revealed that one of the men, Fahir, was later found to have a cyst on his brain following a CT scan. In response to the public outcry, Greater Manchester Police announced the suspension of the officer and referred the case to the Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC) for a comprehensive investigation. The IOPC is also looking into the second incident involving the use of pepper spray, as concerns about police conduct continue to grow among the community and local representatives.
