An extensive exhibition of Archibald Knox's work is set to open on April 5, 2025, at the National Art Gallery in the Manx Museum, Isles of Man. This exhibition, titled 'Knox: Order & Beauty,' will feature more than 200 pieces of art, including 100 works from Manx National Heritage. Various types of artwork, including silverware, pewter, jewelry, paintings, sketches, and manuscripts, will be displayed, with many pieces previously unseen in public. The exhibition aims to highlight the unique history and culture of the Isle of Man, reflecting the inspiration Knox found in the island's landscape. The efforts of the Archibald Knox Forum and the collaboration with Visit Isle of Man suggest a strong initiative to promote tourism through cultural heritage. Additionally, the display includes 'The Deer's Cry,' an incomplete manuscript that Knox worked on for over 20 years, marking a significant emphasis on the artist's literary contributions. The exhibition will last until March 1, 2026, and will be part of the broader Isle of Knox campaign featuring events focused on the life and work of Knox. Originally planned to launch in 2024 to coincide with Knox's 160th birthday, the scheduling reflects both an appreciation for the artist's legacy and a strategic opportunity to boost local tourism.
