IndyCar Teams Choose Tires for Nashville Oval Finale

IndyCar Series teams will have the option to choose between Firestone Black Primary Tires and the softer Firestone Alternate Red Tires for the upcoming race at Nashville Superspeedway on September 15. This marks only the second instance this season where teams can select tire types on an oval track, adding an exciting strategic element to the race. Each entry will receive a total of 10 sets of tires, including a unique third set designated for high-line group practice, aimed at enhancing grip and promoting competitive racing. The new tire regulations require teams to utilize one set of primary tires and two sets of alternate tires during the race, with the stipulation that cars must complete two laps on each tire type.
