Disney Announces New Rides and Attractions for Parks
- Disney Parks in the U.S. are set to undergo significant changes and upgrades over the next five years.
- Official announcements regarding the new rides and attractions were made at the D23 bi-annual fan event.
- The enhancements aim to elevate the visitor experience at Disney's parks.
Disney Experiences chairman Josh D'Amaro announced significant developments for the company's theme parks, emphasizing that plans are actively in motion. According to the Disney Parks Blog, the east coast parks are set to receive the most extensive updates, with the west coast following closely behind. Notable additions include a new Villains Land at Magic Kingdom, featuring two major attractions alongside dining and shopping options. In Frontierland, a new "Ka-Chow!" Cars attraction promises a thrilling rally race through the mountains, catering to both families and younger guests. Additionally, Magic Kingdom will introduce new lounges, including a Pirates of the Caribbean-themed tavern, set to open in 2025. EPCOT will also see the return of the re-imagined Test Track, which aims to celebrate innovation while reflecting on the past, present, and future. Over at Disneyland and Disney California Adventure, the first-ever "Coco" ride is in development, allowing guests to join Miguel on a musical journey to the land of the dead. These enhancements come at a time when Disney has reported lagging performance in its theme-park business during the third quarter, raising questions about the company's ability to attract visitors amidst increasing competition and changing consumer preferences. As these projects progress, Disney aims to reinvigorate its parks and enhance the guest experience.
