In an interview with the US Sun, Brandi Glanville revealed her ongoing health struggles that began due to stress-induced angioedema. This condition caused her face to swell significantly, ultimately contributing to the loss of five teeth. At 52 years old, she described how this had not only affected her physical appearance but also her mental health, as she felt less confident and social due to her missing teeth. Glanville received support from her friend Phaedra Parks, who recommended a dentist, Dr. Anjali Rajpal, to assist in her dental reconstruction process. Throughout this health journey, Glanville reported being depressed and isolated, unable to socialize freely. The visible impact of her health issues made her hesitant to explain her condition to others, further exacerbating her feelings of social withdrawal. The changes in her dental health were compounded by the discovery of an infected tooth, which they found when treating the underlying effects of her angioedema. As a result of this ongoing issue, she underwent substantial medical examinations and lab tests, resulting in an expenditure totaling $70,000, as she sought to decipher the cause of her symptoms. After multiple consultations with various medical professionals, including an immunologist and a rheumatologist, she was diagnosed with a facial parasite likely contracted during a trip to Morocco. This diagnosis added another layer of frustration for Glanville as she has had to deal with ongoing medication and treatment throughout the year, continuing to search for effective solutions to her problems. Despite these challenges, she expressed a sense of relief in taking positive steps toward recovery, including a new therapist and improved medication to help manage her depression. Currently, Glanville has expressed hopefulness about her dental reconstruction, having already received one new tooth, which has allowed her to eat and smile better. With the ongoing support from Dr. Rajpal, she is focused on restoring her dental health and regaining her confidence. As she continues on this journey of recovery, Glanville emphasizes her determination to shift her outlook towards a more positive direction, overcoming the challenges that have come her way over the past two years.
