Member One unveils leadership team in Roanoke Valley after merger

On September 16, 2024, Member One, a division of Virginia Credit Union, announced its regional leadership team following a successful merger. This team will oversee operations in the Roanoke Valley, New River Valley, and Lynchburg markets. Chris Shockley, President/CEO of Virginia Credit Union, emphasized the importance of local decision-making and community engagement in meeting the unique needs of these areas. The leadership team aims to balance continuity with change to enhance member services and community collaboration. Tim Rowe, a 38-year veteran of Member One, will serve as Market President, focusing on member services, employee engagement, and community involvement. His extensive experience includes roles on various boards and active participation in local youth sports. Jean Hopstetter, with nearly 30 years in the credit union industry, will take on the role of Senior Executive Vice President & Merger Integration Executive, leading the integration efforts of the newly merged organization. The merger is expected to be fully integrated by 2026, with no job losses or branch closures resulting from the merger. Member One will continue to operate as a division of Virginia Credit Union during this transition. The organizations share a strong alignment in mission and culture, which is anticipated to facilitate a smooth integration process.
