- Another Planet Entertainment presents the big San Francisco concert on Saturday.
Following the recent Outside Lands Music Festival, Another Planet Entertainment is set to host a major concert in San Francisco's Golden Gate Park this Saturday, featuring iconic bands System of a Down and Deftones. This inaugural event, part of the newly established Golden Gate Park Concerts series, quickly sold out after tickets went on sale last April, drawing significant interest from music fans. System of a Down, formed in the early 1990s, has gained global acclaim as one of the leading alternative-metal bands, despite not releasing new music in nearly two decades. Co-headliners Deftones, hailing from Sacramento, have been influential in the heavy alternative music scene for over 30 years, evolving their sound from hardcore punk to more melodic and atmospheric elements. Their latest album, "Ohms," was released in 2020, alongside a special reissue of their landmark album "White Pony." The concert will also feature performances from the Mars Volta, Viagra Boys, and Australian duo VOWWS. Gates will open at 1:30 p.m., with the first act taking the stage at 3 p.m. To facilitate access, Another Planet is providing free Muni rides for ticket holders and paid shuttle services from various locations in San Francisco and beyond. While plans for additional concerts in the park were initially announced, the System of a Down and Deftones show remains the only confirmed event under the agreement with the San Francisco Board of Supervisors, allowing for two to three ticketed concerts annually through 2026.
