Driver flees after killing bicyclist in hit-and-run in Florida

Reports indicate that Jeancy was driving a 2013 Honda Civic when he struck the cyclist, causing severe injuries that led to the victim's death at the scene. Authorities noted that Jeancy fled without rendering assistance or contacting the authorities. After conducting an investigation, law enforcement officials located Jeancy's vehicle and found damage consistent with the crash, corroborated by surveillance footage. Jeancy later confessed to the incident during a recorded interview, resulting in charges of leaving the scene of a crash involving death and tampering with evidence. He was subsequently booked at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center. These incidents exemplify the rising number of hit-and-run cases affecting cyclists, highlighting the urgent need for improved safety measures for vulnerable road users.
