On November 5, 2024, NAVAL QUÉBEC and the LEVIATAD Consortium announced a significant partnership during the EURONAVAL trade show in Villepinte, France. This memorandum of understanding aims to enhance collaboration between Quebec's naval supply chain and European nations such as Italy, France, Belgium, and Croatia. The main focus is to promote resilience and sovereignty in naval defense industries through shared expertise and joint R&D projects. Pierre Drapeau, President and CEO of NAVAL QUÉBEC, expressed optimism in developing new business opportunities through this agreement. Giovanni Lorenzo Forcieri, from Italy's Distretto Ligure delle Tecnologie Marine, highlighted that this partnership would foster essential synergies, ultimately boosting innovation and competitiveness in the global naval market. The MOU will remain in effect for 48 months, allowing for potential renewal and regular evaluations of progress at joint meetings. This initiative exemplifies the commitment from both sides to enhance their respective supply chains and promote international competitiveness within the naval sector.
