Hasbro Unveils Ghostbusters Ecto Set From 1984 Classic

This release features a six-inch-scale replica of the Ecto-1 vehicle, which was made famous in the 1984 film and its sequel, Ghostbusters II. The replica measures almost 24 inches long and includes intricate details aimed at accurately recreating the vehicle as seen in the movies, enhanced by actual measurements and photographs taken from an existing Ecto-1. The toy is available in two versions—an Anniversary Edition Base Model priced at $325 and a Deluxe Model at $400. The Deluxe Model comes with added features and accessories, reflecting the brighter and louder aesthetic of Ghostbusters II. To incentivize purchases, both models include collectible figures: a Librarian figure, a Slimer figure, and potentially a Louis Tully figure if the project meets its funding goal. Backers are given a limited timeframe to support the project, needing 12,000 backers in 45 days, which began with an impressive 3,000 backers shortly after launch.
