Story

David Valentine, a live-streamer known as #YellowSizzler, has been arrested in Wisconsin on charges related to the January 6 Capitol attack. His arrest comes nearly two years after he was identified by online "sedition hunters," a group that has played a significant role in aiding law enforcement with the identification and arrest of individuals involved in the riot. Valentine was a regular participant in the "Freedom Corner" protests, which support those charged in connection with the Capitol insurrection. Authorities allege that Valentine was involved in violent actions during the riot, including pushing a large "Trump 2020" sign against police officers and cutting wires near the lower west tunnel, a site of significant violence. He faces a felony civil disorder charge along with several misdemeanor offenses. Other participants from the "Freedom Corner" protests, such as Tommy Tatum and Taylor Taranto, have also been charged for their involvement in the events of January 6. To date, over 1,400 individuals have been charged in connection with the Capitol attack, with more than 1,000 securing convictions. Sentences have varied widely, with over 560 defendants receiving prison time ranging from a few days to 22 years. Recently, David Dempsey, one of the more violent rioters, was sentenced to 20 years in federal prison and made headlines for his comments predicting a Trump victory in the upcoming election during a call to "Freedom Corner."
