Man charged with attempted stabbing in Libertyville motel brawl

In a troubling incident that occurred in unincorporated Libertyville, Illinois, on Friday night, a man named Javier Moran, 54, was involved in a violent confrontation at a motel. The Lake County Sheriff's Office reported that just after 10 p.m., deputies were dispatched to the scene on North Route 45 following a report of a fight and stabbing. Upon arrival, they found a 31-year-old resident of the motel with minor injuries targeting his hands. Preliminary investigations revealed that Moran had been consuming alcohol in a motel room along with two acquaintances. During the gathering, tensions escalated, leading Moran to become argumentative and threaten one of his friends. After being asked to leave the room, he initially complied but soon returned with a knife, escalating the confrontation. The victim, while attempting to defend himself from Moran’s aggression, suffered minor cuts on his hands as he deflected the attack.
