- Tender process has started for the development of a 30-kilometre long 8-lane elevated corridor in Pimpri-Chinchwad.
- The project will have a total capital cost of ₹7,827 crore.
- The corridor aims to improve the transport infrastructure in the region.
Bhosari MLA Mahesh Landge announced on X (formerly Twitter) that the tender process has officially begun for the eight-lane elevated Nashik Phata-Khed corridor. This announcement follows a joint meeting involving officials from the Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) and the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI), aimed at accelerating the project's progress. Key figures at the meeting included PCMC Commissioner Shekhar Singh and NHAI Project Manager Sanjay Kadam, who provided a comprehensive presentation on the project. During the meeting, Landge proposed several enhancements to the project design, including the addition of underpasses and subways at various locations to improve traffic flow in Bhosari, Talawade, Chikhali, and Moshi. He emphasized the need to prioritize work on three critical junctions—Jai Ganesh Empire Spine Road, Bharatmata Chowk Moshi, and Bhosari—in the first phase to mitigate traffic congestion. Earlier this month, the Cabinet, led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, approved eight National High-Speed Road Corridor Projects, including the Nashik Phata-Khed corridor, which spans 30 kilometers and carries a total investment of ₹7,827 crore. This corridor is expected to enhance high-speed connectivity for traffic between Pune and Nashik, particularly benefiting industrial hubs like Chakan and Bhosari. Union Minister Nitin Gadkari highlighted that the elevated corridor will significantly improve logistics for the automobile sector and other industries, connecting major economic centers and facilitating access to ten economic nodes, including a mega food park and various industrial clusters.
