Story

WHITE SULPHUR SPRINGS, W.Va.—Brooks Koepka secured his second victory of the LIV Golf League season on August 18, shooting an impressive 7-under 63 at The Greenbrier. Koepka triumphed over Jon Rahm in a tense playoff, marking his fifth career win since the league's inception in June 2022. Rahm, who had a two-shot lead going into the final round, finished with a 65, birdying two of his last three holes to tie Koepka at 19-under 191. The playoff unfolded at the par-3 18th hole, where Rahm faced a challenging shot after going over the green and into a bunker. Despite a valiant effort, his par putt to extend the playoff narrowly missed, allowing Koepka to claim victory. This win follows Koepka's earlier success at LIV Golf Singapore earlier this year, further solidifying his status in the league. Jason Kokrak also had a strong performance, shooting a 63 to finish in third place. Meanwhile, Richard Bland, the 51-year-old English golfer who has had a successful year in senior majors, needed a birdie on the 18th to tie for the lead but ended up making a bogey for a final score of 65, finishing two strokes behind. In addition to individual accolades, Koepka's team, Smash, clinched the team title by a margin of three shots, showcasing a strong collective performance throughout the tournament.
