China-CEEC Local Leaders' Meeting convenes in Yantai on October 16

On October 16, 2024, Yantai, China, hosted the 6th Local Leaders' Meeting between China and Central and Eastern European countries. This event included a series of four forums aimed at enhancing local cooperation, focusing on environmental sustainability in the Green and Low-Carbon Forum, and agricultural collaboration in the High-Level Academician Forum. The formation of the China-CEEC Modern Agricultural Science and Education Innovation Alliance involved 64 institutions from both regions to innovate educational and technological approaches in modern agriculture. Additionally, Shandong and Serbia's Vojvodina Province established a cooperative agreement to boost bilateral relations. The meeting was an opportunity to foster sister-province ties, with agreements that enhance cross-cultural understanding and economic cooperation. Various exhibitions showcased Central and Eastern European customs and traditional Chinese medicine, exemplifying cultural exchange and the promotion of local Shandong products. The exhibitions, including the Qilu traditional medicine area, drew considerable interest from international guests, signifying a growing appreciation for traditional practices. By establishing these platforms for dialogue and partnership, the meeting aimed to promote greater commercial activities between China and CEEC. The discussions highlighted the potential for adopting technologies in agriculture and medicine, fostering a reciprocal exchange that could benefit both parties.
