Brazilian photographer goes missing in Paris amid search efforts

In France, a search is currently underway for Flavio Rios de Almeida, a Brazilian photographer who vanished while visiting Paris. His disappearance dates back to November 26, 2024, when he reportedly had an accident involving the Seine River and was treated at the Georges Pompidou Hospital, after which he was discharged. Following treatment, Flavio attempted to extend his stay in an apartment he had rented for the season. His family became concerned after he failed to maintain communication, a behavior inconsistent with his usual habits. Flavio's belongings, including his passport, were removed by a French acquaintance, and police began searching for him. On November 27, his mobile phone was found in a plant pot outside a restaurant, prompting further urgency in the search efforts. The Brazilian embassy has been contacted for assistance, and friends and family have emphasized the need for intervention from both Brazilian and French authorities due to differences in how missing persons cases are typically processed in the two countries. While the French police are reviewing his suitcase for clues, hopes remain among his family that he will be located alive.
