Man Accused of Killing Twin Sister

Jonathan D. Hagley, 26, is currently detained in the psychiatric ward of Bergen County Jail following the fatal shooting of his twin sister, Naomi Hagley, at their family home in Teaneck. Authorities reported that Naomi was found with three gunshot wounds, and their father indicated that the shots were fired from Jonathan's handgun. Police apprehended Jonathan a short distance from the scene and recovered a Glock 30S with its serial number removed. This incident marks a troubling pattern for Jonathan Hagley, who has a history of violent behavior. Approximately eight months prior, he was involved in a shooting in Harlem, where he allegedly shot a man in the back during a gunfight. At that time, he was on parole for previous convictions, including aggravated assault and burglary, which resulted in a seven-year prison sentence in 2018. His criminal record also includes an incident in jail where he reportedly slashed another inmate. Hagley now faces multiple charges, including murder, weapons offenses, and obstruction of justice. He was scheduled to appear in court in Manhattan on September 9, but his attorney waived the hearing due to Hagley being medically sedated. A judge has set his bail at $100,000 cash or $300,000 bond, reflecting the severity of his alleged actions and ongoing legal troubles.
