Google has launched a new feature called Circle to Search, designed to enhance visual searches on Android devices. This tool allows users to select any part of their screen by circling it with their finger or input device, enabling them to find more information about products seen in photos or videos. Users can activate Circle to Search by pressing and holding the home button or gesture bar, making it a quick and intuitive way to discover products like clothing, electronics, and appliances. Currently, Circle to Search is available on various Android devices, including the Google Pixel 6A, 7A, and the Pixel Fold, as well as select Android tablets. Once activated, the feature becomes the default search tool, replacing Google Assistant when the home button is pressed. Users can circle virtually anything on their screens, from celebrities on social media to items in online marketplaces, and receive relevant search results. The Circle to Search panel provides users with a range of options, including direct links to purchase items, as well as alternative purchasing options at different price points. Additionally, users can enter specific prompts to refine their search results. For instance, a user might type "Find on Grailed" to locate more affordable luxury clothing options. Importantly, Circle to Search does not save screenshots of searches, but users can access their search history through Google settings by tapping the three-dot icon. This feature aims to streamline the shopping experience and make product discovery more efficient for Android users.
