On September 4, 2024, the National Content & Technology Cooperative (NCTC) announced the election of new Board Officers during a member meeting held in August at The Independent Show. Karl Skroban, VP of Video Strategy and Programming at Comporium, was elected as the new board chair, while David Thacker, General Manager at TVS Cable, took on the role of vice-chair. Both leaders bring extensive business and technical expertise, emphasizing their commitment to serving NCTC members and their communities. Lou Borrelli, CEO of NCTC, praised the new leadership, highlighting their engagement and determination to address the challenges faced by members in a rapidly evolving industry. He expressed gratitude for Skroban and Thacker's willingness to share their knowledge and experience, which will be crucial as the cooperative celebrates its 40th anniversary. Elaine Partridge, VP of Special Projects at Vexus Fiber, will continue to serve on the board as the immediate past chair, reflecting on her successful two-year tenure. Meanwhile, Brad Mefferd, Chief Administrative Officer at Buckeye Broadband, is stepping down after 12 years of dedicated service, recognized for his significant contributions to the industry. The NCTC, a not-for-profit organization based in Kansas, represents nearly 700 independent cable and broadband operators across the U.S. It aims to enhance the profitability and sustainability of its members while adapting to the changing media landscape.
