Hyundai Ioniq 6 unveils a stunning facelift with no changes to range

In South Korea, the Hyundai Ioniq 6, an all-electric saloon car, underwent a mid-life facelift that was unveiled at the Seoul Mobility Show. The design changes are primarily cosmetic, giving the car a sleeker appearance without altering its underlying features. The most significant modification is at the front, where the headlights have been repositioned into a new darker section of the bumper, enhancing the overall aesthetics. Additionally, the use of slim, redesigned LED daytime running lamps has contributed to a sharper look, while a more pronounced chin spoiler has been introduced to the lower bumper. In the N Line variant, a distinct winged design has been applied, aiming for a more aggressive and purposeful stance. The rear of the vehicle has also seen changes; a new ducktail spoiler replaces the previous prominent rear spoiler, seamlessly integrating with the boot lid and the Ioniq 6’s distinctive Parametric Pixel rear lights. The updates extend to the bodywork, featuring new darker elements that enhance the car’s side profile and rear visibility. Inside, minor updates include a new steering wheel and the use of improved materials for a more premium cabin experience. The centre console layout has been slightly modified to enhance user functionality, and the climate control display has been enlarged for better visibility. The dual 12.3-inch screens remain unchanged, providing a cohesive interface for the vehicle’s tech features, along with the option for digital door mirrors supported by cameras instead of traditional mirrors. Notably, no revisions to the battery have been made, as the system will retain its 77.4kWh capacity. However, the aerodynamic improvements from the facelift could lead to a slight increase in the range, which is currently claimed to be 338 miles. Although the official pricing and sales release of the revised Ioniq 6 remain unannounced, market expectations suggest it will be available in the UK later in the year, potentially capturing interest from consumers seeking advanced electric vehicles that blend design with practicality.
