Marathon Petroleum Corporation (MPC) and its midstream affiliate MPLX LP have unveiled two comprehensive reports detailing their sustainability initiatives amid the evolving energy landscape. The reports, titled the Sustainability Report and Perspectives on Climate-Related Scenarios, underscore the companies' commitment to enhancing resilience, fostering innovation, and integrating sustainability into their operational frameworks. These documents reflect the firms' ongoing efforts to address the risks and opportunities presented by climate change. The Sustainability Report outlines significant advancements in various areas, including greenhouse gas emissions reductions, carbon intensity improvements, and the cultivation of a robust safety culture. It also highlights the companies' engagement with communities, board oversight, and adherence to compliance and ethics standards. Meanwhile, the Perspectives on Climate-Related Scenarios report, aligned with the Task Force on Climate-Related Financial Disclosures, provides an analysis of strategic risks and opportunities within the energy sector.
