Story

In a recent tour of their $27 million Upper East Side home in New York City, Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos revealed the design elements that contribute to their personal space's ambiance. Having moved into the townhouse over a decade ago, the couple enlisted designer William Sofield to create what they described as an Art Deco masterpiece. The bedroom design aimed for a peaceful, sexy atmosphere reminiscent of beautiful hotel experiences they had enjoyed during their travels in Europe. Upon entering the master bedroom, viewers can observe a huge mirror that is strategically placed in front of their bed. Mark Consuelos explained that the mirror serves a functional purpose by concealing a television. Rather than being distracted by their reflection, they humorously mentioned that they watch Judge Judy together. Additionally, the overall decor features soothing neutral colors, punctuated by a chic velvet sofa and gold-patterned walls. The tour of their home began in their cigar lounge, which is located on the fifth floor. This room has become a social hotspot within their house. Remarkably, Mark Consuelos had a special ventilation system installed so he could smoke cigars without leaving a lasting scent in the home. The couple’s vision for this lounge echoed the chic ambiance of 1970s New York City mingled with the artistic flair of 1920s Paris. Kelly shared that many items in the cigar room were sourced from flea markets in Paris, adding to the authenticity of their vision. In another light-hearted moment, Kelly revealed her skills in the kitchen, jokingly stating that she isn't a fabulous cook but manages to whip up meals for Mark because he is perpetually hungry. Their kitchen is said to be the “heart and soul” of their home and connects to a garden area, featuring a pantry delightfully referred to as a “snack closet.” The couple maintains their children's rooms intact to encourage visits, demonstrating their strong family values and the comfort they have found in their well-designed and thoughtfully curated space.
