- Former police officer Sachin Vaze made allegations against Anil Deshmukh and his personal assistants.
- Anil Deshmukh denied Vaze's claims and accused Fadnavis of trying to save Param Bir Singh from arrest.
- Deshmukh claimed Fadnavis asked Singh to level allegations against him to topple the MVA government.
The ongoing conflict between former Home Minister Anil Deshmukh and current Home Minister Devendra Fadnavis is escalating, following serious allegations made by former police officer Sachin Vaze. Vaze accused Deshmukh and his aides of soliciting money during the tenure of the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) government. In response, Deshmukh vehemently denied these claims and accused Fadnavis of attempting to manipulate the situation to undermine the MVA government by pressuring Vaze to make allegations against him. Deshmukh, speaking to the media in Nagpur, asserted that Vaze's accusations were orchestrated by Fadnavis. He emphasized that Vaze, who is embroiled in serious criminal charges including the planting of explosives outside industrialist Mukesh Ambani's residence and the murder of businessman Mansukh Hiran, was acting under Fadnavis's influence. Deshmukh also called for the public release of the Chandiwal Commission's report, which was established to investigate allegations that he collected Rs 100 crore while in office. The Chandiwal Commission's findings reportedly include a statement from Vaze asserting that neither Deshmukh nor his personal assistant instructed him to collect money. In contrast, Fadnavis questioned why the MVA government did not disclose the commission's report during its time in power, suggesting that the MVA should be held accountable for the lack of transparency. As the political tension mounts, both parties continue to exchange accusations, highlighting the contentious atmosphere surrounding Maharashtra's political landscape.
