A teacher from Harper Junior High in Davis, California, is facing serious allegations of engaging in a sexual relationship with a 13-year-old boy in Washington state. The investigation into Natasha Polk began in October 2023, when Centralia police received reports of her inappropriate conduct with the student, who was in 8th grade at the time. Authorities allege that Polk provided the boy with marijuana, alcohol, and vapes, in addition to having sexual encounters with him on multiple occasions. The alleged relationship reportedly continued even after the boy completed middle school, with Polk using her position as a teacher to maintain contact with him, including visits to juvenile hall. After relocating to West Sacramento in 2021, Polk is said to have traveled back to Washington, where she rented an Airbnb in Tacoma to meet the boy again. The investigation culminated in an arrest warrant issued on August 20, 2024, just days before the start of the school year. On August 21, Polk was arrested at her home in California by Centralia police, with assistance from local law enforcement. She is currently in custody at the Yolo County Jail, awaiting extradition to Washington. In response to the allegations, the Davis Joint Unified School District has placed Polk on administrative leave and is cooperating with the ongoing investigation. Polk has been employed by the district since August 2022, according to district spokesperson Maria Clayton.
