Story

In a rare opportunity, the Hôtel de Paris Monte-Carlo is opening its renowned wine cellar to guests for the first time in celebration of its 150-year history. Guided by Burgundy expert Elvina Rossow, visitors can explore the expansive cellar, which houses over 350,000 bottles across approximately 6,000 varieties, making it the largest hotel and restaurant wine collection globally. The cellar, established in 1874, features prestigious labels such as Château Petrus and the locked vault of Romanée Conti. The tour reveals not only the impressive array of wines but also a unique private space for celebrations, adorned with candid black-and-white photographs of past events. Among the treasures is the Réserve Marie Blanc, a museum of wine named after the cellar's founder, showcasing historical armagnac and champagne, including a rare 1803 cognac originally intended for Napoleon. This summer, select rare vintages from the collection will be paired with exquisite dishes at the hotel’s Michelin-starred restaurants. At Le Grill, guests can enjoy a Mediterranean menu complemented by wines from Bordeaux and Alsace, while Marcel Ravin’s Blue Bay offers a fusion of Caribbean flavors and fine dining, featuring special bottles from the Rhône valley and Burgundy for the anniversary. The exclusive wine cellar tour is available until November 2024, priced at €2,000 per person, providing a unique glimpse into the hotel’s storied past and its exceptional wine heritage.
