The 2nd Microshort Drama Conference took place in Linping District of Hangzhou City, Zhejiang Province, from November 5-7, 2024, uniting experts and industry leaders to discuss the sustainable growth of the micro drama sector. As micro dramas transition from rapid growth to quality focus, the importance of emotional resonance has been emphasized by industry figures, particularly Luo Jianhui from the China Netcasting Services Association. He asserted that while artificial intelligence continues to evolve, genuine emotional connections in storytelling remain vital. The conference also saw the release of an industry white paper outlining the micro drama industry's upgraded 2.0 version, characterized by enhanced quality and digital innovation. Additionally, an index for evaluating micro drama dissemination was launched to promote creative enhancements within the industry. Leaders, including Chen Guangsheng, highlighted the potential for Zhejiang's micro drama sector to thrive by leveraging smaller productions to cultivate larger cultural narratives. Linping District is refining its complete production chain for micro dramas, intending to attract cultural enterprises for sustainable industry development, as evidenced by new initiatives like the Grand Canal themed creation plan amid the site's UNESCO heritage recognition.
