Eight Naxals killed in Jharkhand operation

In India, specifically in Jharkhand's Bokaro district, an encounter between security forces and Naxalites occurred early on Monday, April 21, 2025. Prayag Majhi had a bounty of Rs 1 crore, while Yadav and Sahebram had bounties of Rs 25 lakh and Rs 10 lakh respectively. The presence of these high-profile Naxal leaders underscores the ongoing threat posed by the insurgent group in the region, as well as the strategic focus of the security forces on dismantling their hierarchy. Security forces also recovered a cache of arms during the operation, including a variety of rifles and other firearms, which indicates the ongoing preparation and armament of the Naxals. The Director General of Police for Jharkhand, Anurag Gupta, emphasized that the police are well aware of the locations and identities of active Naxalites in the state, urging them to surrender and take advantage of the state’s surrender policy.
