On Saturday, Bryant University achieved a narrow victory over Franklin Pierce, finishing the game with a score of 21-17. Jarrett Guest played a pivotal role, throwing for 282 yards and connecting with Landon Ruggieri for three touchdowns. The game was competitive, with Franklin Pierce initially leading 17-14 in the fourth quarter. However, a crucial 10-play drive by Bryant, highlighted by Fabrice Mukendi's 18-yard run, allowed Ruggieri to score the game-winning touchdown with just over four minutes remaining. Franklin Pierce attempted to mount a comeback, but their drive ended in a turnover on downs. Bryant's defense held strong, forcing a punt that gave the Ravens one last opportunity to win. Adrian Parker, the quarterback for Franklin Pierce, completed several key passes, including a 22-yard catch by Joziah Gonzalez, but ultimately, two incompletions thwarted their efforts to score. Guest completed 26 of 41 passes, with Ruggieri being his primary target, catching nine passes for a total of 129 yards. Mukendi contributed significantly to the ground game, rushing for 62 yards on 10 carries. On the other side, Parker completed 28 of 50 passes for 268 yards and one touchdown, with Jahmir Dixon being a standout receiver, catching five passes for 89 yards and a touchdown. With this victory, Bryant improved its record to 1-1 and is set to face Holy Cross next Saturday, followed by their Coastal Athletic Association debut against New Hampshire on September 21.
