– Chief Minister Mohan Yadav expressed strong support for the recent legislation granting 33 percent reservation for women in Parliament and state assemblies, emphasizing its potential to empower women significantly. In an interview with PTI, Yadav commended Prime Minister Narendra Modi for this landmark decision, asserting that it reflects the growing role of women in public welfare initiatives. In addition to the reservation initiative, Yadav's government has been recognized for its efforts in promoting menstrual health among adolescents. The UNICEF India unit recently praised the Chief Minister for his initiative to provide sanitary napkins to schoolgirls, which aims to enhance menstrual hygiene and education. This initiative is part of a broader commitment to women's welfare in the state. On August 11, Yadav announced the transfer of Rs 57.18 crore to the accounts of 19 lakh schoolgirls as part of the Samagra Shiksha Programme. This program is designed to ensure that girls in Classes VII to XII receive sanitary napkins, thereby addressing a critical health issue and supporting their education. Yadav expressed gratitude for the recognition of his government's efforts, stating that the appreciation from UNICEF underscores the importance of these initiatives in fostering a healthier and more equitable environment for young girls in Madhya Pradesh.
