The interaction took place after Chopra's felicitation ceremony at India House within the Games Village. Manu expressed her lack of knowledge regarding the specifics of their discussion, noting that she was not present at the time. In her remarks, the 22-year-old shooter from Haryana mentioned her familiarity with Chopra, having met him at various events since 2018. She emphasized that while they have interacted at competitions, their conversations are typically brief and not as extensive as what the public might assume from the viral clip. "I don't know much about it because I wasn't there at that time," she stated, highlighting the limited nature of their exchanges. Manu Bhaker was aiming for a historic achievement at the Paris Olympics, seeking a hat-trick of medals but ultimately finished fourth in the women's 25m air pistol event. Meanwhile, Neeraj Chopra made headlines by becoming the first Indian athlete to win two Olympic medals in athletics, following his gold medal victory at the Tokyo 2021 Olympics.
