UAW President Names Top VP Picks for Kamala Harris

In a recent statement, UAW President Shawn Fain expressed strong support for Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear and Minnesota Governor Tim Walz as top contenders for Vice President Kamala Harris' running mate. The list of potential candidates reportedly includes at least six individuals, with Beshear and Walz being prominent figures. He asserted that a Harris-Beshear ticket would be formidable in the upcoming election. In contrast, Fain expressed reservations about other candidates, such as Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro and Arizona Senator Mark Kelly, citing their records on labor issues as less favorable. Despite concerns regarding potential vice presidential picks, Fain reassured that Harris remains committed to labor interests.
