- Fans of Apple products can look forward to the new AirPods launch.
Apple is reportedly preparing to unveil two new versions of its AirPods, which will replace both the AirPods 3 and AirPods 2. According to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, the upcoming AirPods 4 will feature both lower and higher-priced options, positioning them as the new entry-level models in Apple's audio lineup. The AirPods 2, which have been in circulation since early 2019, have served as a budget-friendly option, while the AirPods 3, introduced in late 2021, offered a design akin to the AirPods Pro but lacked noise cancellation. The new AirPods 4 are expected to sit alongside the AirPods Pro 2, which currently represent the premium segment of Apple’s earbuds. The Pro model received a minor update last September, primarily featuring a USB-C charging port to align with the latest iPhone models. The anticipated higher-end version of the AirPods 4 is expected to introduce noise cancellation, a key feature that distinguishes the Pro models from the standard versions. In contrast, the AirPods 2 are characterized by their outdated design, which includes a tall case and protruding stems. They lack many modern features, such as water resistance and improved battery life, and still utilize the older Lightning port, which Apple is gradually phasing out. As Apple gears up for the launch of the iPhone 16 series in September, it is likely that the new AirPods will be unveiled alongside the new handsets, continuing the company's tradition of synchronizing product releases.
