Story

HIALEAH, Fla. – Disturbing surveillance footage from a Nest camera has emerged, showing a man in a pet grooming company T-shirt kicking a dog in the hallway of an apartment building in Miami-Dade County. The incident occurred at the Jade Winds community, located at 1770 NE 191 St., where residents expressed shock and stated they did not recognize the dog involved in the abuse. In response to the video, the Hialeah-based pet grooming company issued a statement in Spanish, expressing regret and vowing to implement "serious" measures against the employee responsible for the incident. The company has faced scrutiny as a man in scrubs, associated with the business, declined to comment when approached by Local 10 News outside their registered address in Hialeah. Florida law prohibits the unnecessary torment of animals in a cruel or inhumane manner, categorizing animal cruelty as a first-degree misdemeanor. This offense can result in penalties including imprisonment, fines, or both. The Miami-Dade County detectives are actively investigating the case and have urged anyone with information to contact Miami-Dade County Crime Stoppers at 305-471-8477. The incident has raised concerns among residents and animal welfare advocates, highlighting the need for accountability in the treatment of animals by those in the pet care industry.
