Dubai is set to enhance its iconic skyline with the construction of Burj Azizi, a skyscraper that will reach a height of 725 meters (2,379 feet). This ambitious project, developed by Azizi Developments, broke ground in January 2023 after receiving approval from local authorities. The building will feature 131 stories, including luxury apartments, a seven-star hotel, and a vertical shopping mall, making it a significant addition to the World Trade Center district on Sheikh Zayed Road. The design process initially considered two height options, with the final approval allowing for the taller structure. The developer has indicated that construction is progressing well, particularly with the foundations and piling work. Once completed, Burj Azizi will surpass the current second-tallest building, Malaysia's Merdeka 118, and will also claim several records, including the highest hotel lobby and nightclub in the world. Mirwais Azizi, the founder of Azizi Developments, expressed his vision for the tower as a tribute to Dubai's status as a premier destination for residents and tourists alike. The skyscraper will not only enhance the city's skyline but also contribute to its reputation for architectural innovation and engineering excellence. Dubai continues to lead globally in the number of skyscrapers over 300 meters, with more ambitious projects underway. The Burj Azizi is expected to solidify the city's position as a hub for supertall buildings, further attracting visitors and investors to the region.
